How to use

Enter one bill total and choose either zero or two decimal places. Add the people involved and edit their names. Equal splitting gives everyone the same weight. Splitting by shares accepts integers from zero to 1000; a person with zero shares owes nothing but can still pay upfront. To calculate settlement, enable payments and enter what each person paid. These amounts must add up to the bill total. Choose Calculate split to see each share and suggested payments, then copy or download the details. Any edit clears the previous result, so calculate again before exporting. This worksheet supports 2 to 50 people and names up to 40 Unicode characters. It handles one bill at a time and keeps no history.

How is rounding handled?

Smallest units go to the largest remainders first. Ties follow creation order. Shares always add up to the exact bill total.

Does this send money?

No. It only calculates reproducible suggestions. It does not send money, reminders, or connect accounts, and does not claim to minimize transfer count.

Can I mix currencies?

No currency conversion is available. Choose zero or two decimals for one currency and check that the precision suits your unit.

Why must payments match the total?

Matching totals make everyone's incoming and outgoing payments balance. If they differ, the calculator shows the difference so you can correct it.
